BEACH PEAPOD BY JOEL WHITE
This Beach Peapod was built by ACMC members in several boat building classes.
ACMC purchased the plans from WoodenBoat magazine and built the boat over an 18 month period. It is 12 ft., in length. It has one rowing station & thwart in the stern for a coxswain.

SWAMPSCOTT DORY BUILT BY ANDY STEWART
A Swampscott Dory built in the traditional manner by Andy Stewart. It is on loan to ACMC. Currently, it is undemoored at Cap Santa Boat Haven.
Currently, it is available to ACMC members & EMC customers who would like to row her; and perhaps, built a dory themselves. It is 18 ft., in length. It has two rowing stations. The Swampscott Dory is a work boat designed to carry heavy loads in all kinds of weather. Plans for the dory are outlined in Gardner's book about common dories.
TRADITIONAL MACKINAW BOAT
Our traditionally built Mackinaw boat MECCA was built by Scott Hicks in 1985. It is a replica of the popular Mackinaw boats sailed on Lake Michigan around 1855.
It is 19 ft. in length. It has three rowing stations. Coxswain sits in the stern at the tiller. The Mackinaw Boat also has a sail plan. Currently, the Mackinaw Boat is undergoing routine maintenance & bottom painting. We hope to have the sail plan completed next year.
Come to a Messabout! Row or sail a boat you think is just great; or perhaps, you wold like to build. ACMC partners with the Puget Sound Chapter of the Small Traditional Craft Association (TSCA) to sponsor messabouts locally. It's a whole lot of fun. It's a great opportunity to learn about small boats...how they row or sail, how they "feel" on the water, etc. Here, an ACMC member tries out a wonderful skiff built by TSCA member Tom Fulk. It's the Yankee Doodle!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED. COME AND JOIN OUR FLEET OF SMALL CRAFT
This year (2011) ACMC rented space on the dock at Cap Santa Boat Haven to start what we hope is the beginnning of a small fleet of rowing & sailing craft.
It is only a beginning...but with your active participation, we hope it will grow into something everyone can enjoy. Help us manage our small fleet & promote our on-water program.
