Anacortes Arts Festival

Tristin & Friend with boats

ACMC participates in the Arts Festival.In 2005 volunteers built a pond and encouraged the young people to build their own paddle boat and run it on the pond.Tristin and his friend are captivated by the boats they have.

Fidalgo Bay Day

ACMC also presents Fidlago Bay at the Seafarers Monument on the edge of Fidalgo Bay. Here a group of local people are introduced to the bay...

Fidalgo Bay Cleanup, 2005

Each year members are called together to pick up debris along the shoreline, and report any major obstructions It is a wonderful way to spend a few hours with friends, get out boating, and preserve our rich heritage.

Our members also helped in the effort to keep the trail open on Indian Point Trail. There are many spectacular views available of Deception Pass Bridge from that trail. Here are Lyndon Green, Tony Bull and Justin Hetherton,all of ACMC.

The 3rd Annual Members Picnic at Bowman Bay

The 3rd Annual Picnic In 2006, a wonderful, sunny day was had by all as the peapod was christened and rowed around the bay. Then other small boats and kayaks joined in after a hugh lunch of BBQ'd salmon and various salads,all brought by members. 4th of July in Anacortes, 2006

The parade saw the peapod built by the members towed rather than rowed down Commercial Street.

Creosote Log Cleanup

Barge on Duty Dunlap Tugs pick up logs

Organized by the Skagit County Marine Resources Committee, Paul Dinnel, Committee Chair.

The Bay was filled with many creosote treated logs. After they were identified, they were loaded onto barges, and taken from Fidalgo Bay and the area.

In 2006 we informally visited Greys Harbor Historical Seaport where we took a tour of their facilities....

We all share the Bay, and have lots of fun finding that out.
